linocut of a girl with her tame corncrake bird in a barley field
This item will be back in stock soon.
Inspired by reading Melissa Harrison's novel 'All Among the Barley', which is set in rural Suffolk in the 1930s.
When I read, I picture the scenes in my mind's eye, sometimes an image gets stuck until I set it free in a sketch or in this case, a linocut. The descriptions of the main character Edie and Edmund, her tame Corncrake are so tender and sensitive, I asked Melissa to allow me to create an edition of linocuts depicting them.
